Internship Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineer Intern to join our engineering team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the full product development lifecycle, from concept generation to prototyping and testing. The intern will work closely with experienced engineers on real-world projects, contributing to the design and development of our 4-DOF Robotic Arm Kit. This role is ideal for an individual passionate about mechanical design, robotics, eager to learn, and looking to make a tangible impact.

Key Responsibilities:

The Mechanical Design Engineer Intern will be involved in, but not limited to, the following activities:

• CAD Modeling & Drafting: Create, modify, and manage 2D drawings and 3D models of components and assemblies using industry-standard CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for our Robotic Arm.
• Design Support: Assist in the development of new mechanical designs, ensuring functionality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Analysis & Simulation: Perform basic engineering analyses, such as stress analysis (FEA), thermal analysis, or kinematic studies, to validate designs.
• Prototyping: Assist in the fabrication and assembly of prototypes using various methods (e.g., 3D printing, machining, hand assembly).
• Testing & Validation: Participate in testing activities to evaluate design performance, identify issues, and propose solutions. Document test results.
• Documentation: Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and test reports.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless project execution.
• Problem-Solving: Identify design challenges and contribute to the development of creative and practical solutions.

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled/fresh graduate in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrable proficiency in at least one professional 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, Fusion 360). Please highlight your specific CAD experience on your resume/portfolio.
• Strong foundational knowledge of mechanical engineering principles.
• Familiarity with common manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, 3D printing).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated project experience (academic or personal) involving mechanical design is highly desirable.
